Role overview
Relationship & Stakeholder Management
- Develops and maintains relationships with delivery partners and stakeholders within the country and is able to procure services and contract delivery partners.
- Holds suppliers accountable for delivering against contractual agreements.
- Builds strong internal relationships and networks.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Ensures sound financial planning, working closely with finance teams to keep British Council and client financial year plans up to date.
- Ensures accurate and timely monthly (re)forecasting by running regular reports in the SAP system on actuals, monitoring outstanding purchase orders, reviewing commitments, analysing and commenting on variances to the plan, and recommending corrective actions.
- Monitors monthly finances, including ensuring correct expenditure, adherence to the P2P process, and correcting any mis-postings or required journals.
- Leads on British Council, partner, or client reporting and ensures reports are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
- Ensures compliance with British Council financial policies and procedures.
Project Management
- Contributes to the development of, owns, and delivers the Project Management Plan.
- Identifies risks in a project or programme and develops mitigation strategies in collaboration with the SRO.
- Oversees internal and client procurement, contracting, compliance, and reporting.
- Ensures and reports on compliance.
- Manages procurement within a project or programme.
- Oversees data management, including timely data entry, quality assurance, basic analysis of monitoring data, and development of progress reports to meet funding requirements.
- Undertakes programme-specific data collection as needed, working with colleagues to identify indicators and tools for data collection, ensuring data quality, and conducting basic analysis.
Business Development
- Supports the identification and development of professional networks, relationships, and partnerships to enhance the British Council’s impact and reputation.
- Ensures high-quality and accurate pipeline data for the country/pillar.
- Conducts pipeline and partner/competitor analysis to contribute to business development planning and prioritisation.
- Assists in the development of new business proposals, ensuring adherence to internal and external professional standards.
