British Fashion and Textile Designer Nelly Rose visited the Namuna College of Fashion Technology through the British Council to meet with college officials. A graduate of the London College of Fashion and regular fixture of the London Fashion Week, Ms. Rose shared her past creations, including outputs from her latest residency at the Janakpur Women’s Development Committee (JDWC). She spent over 5 weeks in Janakpur as part of Artists International Development Fund, a joint initiative of the British Council and Arts Council England. Ms. Rose has worked in countries like Guatemala, Indonesia and now in Nepal to produce fabrics and materials with local artisanal workers as part of her campaign for ethical fashion. Her creations from the JWDC residency will be exhibited in Nepal and the UK early next year.
