British Council Nepal successfully rolled out 3 days long IELTS teacher training program. A total of 32 trainers were trained through different sessions delivered throughout the month of January and February.
Eight trainers from Educational Consultancy Association Nepal (ECAN) , thirteen trainers from International Education Representative Initiative Nepal (IERIN) and 15 trainers from Orbit Medical Entrance Pvt. Ltd. had been trained The program was part of British Council’s value added services to its IELTS partners.
The workshop is aimed at teachers in Nepalese institutions who are preparing students for the Academic module of the IELTS test. The workshop provided participants with a brief overview of the IELTS test including the test format and a guide to test results. It also included analysis of the main features of the each paper - Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking modules for teachers focussing on those aspects which students may find more difficult.
The workshops involved active participation by teachers and provided them with practical classroom activities to improve their students’ skills, strategies and performance in the test..
