22 September 2020

On behalf of Jim O’Neill, Exams Director British Council Nepal

Dear British Council Partner Schools and Private Candidates,

I am very sorry to inform you that British Council NP004 is unable to proceed with Cambridge International November 2020 examination series. We had to take this difficult decision due to current government restrictions which are in force for the safety of everyone.

The wellbeing of exams customers and staff is a priority and sadly we cannot provide an examination service under the current conditions, due to local/national restrictions on school exams.

We understand that this is an extremely frustrating consequence of the pandemic we are all facing. We know that you will have many questions regarding what happens next. Our aim is to support education opportunities. Therefore, we will do everything we can to bring school examinations back to you at the next available opportunity, when it is safe and permitted to do so.

We are engaging directly with Cambridge International on a regular basis and they have supported us in this decision. We continue to work closely with Cambridge International to support students during the current extraordinary circumstances.

We want to bring you full, accurate information regarding next steps and so there will be a delay before we can provide specific details.

We will be in touch again on Thursday 24 September with further updates.

Stay safe
