Tree Plantation Toolkit is a joint effort between British Council, Department of Forest and Soil Conservation and StoryCycle, realised under the Road to COP26 campaign which is supported by the British Embassy in Kathmandu.
The Toolkit is a guide to effective plantation in urban areas in Nepal. Planting trees is one of the simplest ways to take effective climate action. This is one activity that people of all ages can participate in and together contribute towards mitigating the impacts of climate change. This toolkit serves as a simple guide for everyone- even those with no prior knowledge or experience - to successfully plant trees for the best results, including choosing the right species, understanding the right location for them to thrive and when it is the best time to plant.
We hope the toolkit will encourage everyone, to take action and join in the collective effort for a greener environment.
In the lead up to the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) which is happening in Glasgow, UK, this November, we hope this toolkit will encourage everyone in Nepal to plant trees, to help in carbon offsetting COP26’s activities in Nepal.
