Shakshyam: QEQS is a three-year capacity building and school improvement programme that takes a whole-school approach to ensure quality education in the partner municipality in Nepal.

The programme aims the following;  

  1. The municipality can monitor and evaluate teaching and learning quality, design, implement and assess teachers’ professional development initiatives 
  2. Head Teachers and teachers improve their classroom methodologies and English proficiency, strengthen inclusion and the quality of teaching and learning in their schools 
  3. Students develop their English and life skills in classrooms and while participating in community projects and in-school clubs 
  4. The municipality develops a team of local teacher educators and sustains and supports Continuous Professional Development for local teachers.  

Partnership with Kawaswoti Municipality

A partnership between the British Council Nepal and Kawaswoti Municipality focused on collaborative work to develop teachers’ core skills and English language skills using a school-based approach.  For details on the partnership, click here. 

Partnership with Waling Municipality

A partnership between the British Council Nepal and Waling Municipality, Syangja is based around whole-school development with strengthened school policies and a committed workforce within and in local education offices.  For details on the partnership, click here. 

Partnership with Mathagadhi Rural Municipality

A three-year partnership for the Shakshyam: Quality Education, Quality Schools project between Mathagadhi Rural Municipality, Palpa and British Council Nepal was signed on 25 July 2022. For details on the partnership, click here.
