Fundamentals of Teaching

Fundamentals of Teaching is a six-day intensive course designed to enhance teacher quality at all stages of a teacher’s career in order to improve the quality of learning that students receive. This is often a stepping stone which leads committed teachers onto doing the CELTA course and to becoming the British Council trainers and examiners in the future. 

Our revised FOT package will have a new focus on our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) framework.  The whole package consists of 12 modules mapped to the professional practices of our global CPD Framework. These modules are well formatted, trialled and branded, and are for the teachers of any subject.  Download the document for an overview of the modules from the download section.

The Fundamentals of Teaching course provided by the British Council was my first step towards learner-centered teaching. With the tools acquired from this program, I could jump into the world of English language teaching and come out a victor. A stepping stone to the CELTA course, the Fundaments of Teaching course gave me an insight of what I could expect in the CELTA. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to explore the wide ocean of teaching and assure that no one will come out dissatisfied.
