The British Council—as part of its 60 Years in Nepal Celebration—is organising a series of film screenings throughout the month of September. UK’s finest films from our collection, under the themes of diversity and inclusiveness, crafts and fashion, animation and arts, will be screened every Friday evening at 5:30 PM.

A programme of the British Short Film and British Short Animation nominees at the annual EE British Academy Film Awards, celebrating innovative and experimental short fiction and non-fiction films and animation. This programme includes all the most recent BAFTA short film award winners and nominees. They represent storytelling that reveals the breadth and diversity of British society, together with world class technical flair, and featuring some of our finest acting talents, this programme is the perfect package to develop international audiences to showcase the UK’s on-going tradition of producing world class short film.

Real to Reel highlights shorts that have screened at Real to Reel: The Craft Film Festival, the first UK festival dedicated to craft and the moving image. This diverse selection of films all concern themselves with craft and design, whether thematically, technically or materially. They explore our relationship with materials and making and include documentaries, maker profiles, and hand-crafted animations, celebrating craft in its many facets.

Imagine: Theatre of War

Theatre of War follows a unique collaboration between two unlikely partners leading to a ground-breaking West End play that shocked, entertained and inspired all who saw it.
Professional frontline soldiers, all badly injured, joined forces with a West End theatre company to help write, rehearse and perform a play based on their experiences of war. This feature documentary follows every aspect of the process to tell an incredibly moving and powerful story.
